While our lids are quite versatile we recommend using your Charles Viancin® products on clean, smooth surfaces such as most pots, pans, and salad bowls. Rims that are dirty or rigid prevent our lids from completely adhering to them.
It is important to create some space between the bowl covered by your Charles Viancin® lid and other items in your refrigerator as overcrowding may cause your lid to no longer adhere to the rim of your bowl.
The handle is for positioning the lid on your bowl to create an airtight seal, not for transporting your bowl.
Absolutely not, our lids are made from BPA-free silicone, which is intended to use with your food. What’s more, our products are safe to use in most ovens, microwaves, refrigerators, and dishwashers.
All of our lids can withstand temperatures ranging from -40°F to 428°F (with the exception of our stacking lids Lime, Lemon, and Orange, which withstand temperatures ranging from -4°F to 356°F). The condensation, which can appear under your lids, has no effect on your food nor does it prevent your lid from effectively creating an airtight seal.
It is possible that the size of your lid is too small for the bowl that you are using. Please refer to our size chart for additional information on each product page.
If your lid fits the rim of your bowl then it should fit inside your microwave. Otherwise, please refer to our size chart to find the best fit.
All of our lids can withstand temperatures ranging from -40°F to 428°F (with the exception of our stacking lids Lime, Lemon, and Orange, which withstand temperatures ranging from -4°F to 350°F) and are safe to use in most ovens, microwaves, refrigerators, and dishwashers.
However, we recommend not placing your Charles Viancin® lids directly on the stovetop as the maximum temperature that our lids can withstand can be reached very quickly. This may result in an unpleasant odor.
Silicone is a porous material, which can sometimes retain the scent of the food that it previously contained. After using our lids, we recommend either placing your lid in your dishwasher or washing thoroughly by hand with a sponge and dish soap.
One of the biggest reasons that we use silicone is for its durability. Our products are meant to be used on a daily basis and will last a very long time.
No, we only sell the products for which you will find descriptions on the product pages. Any other products (food, plates, etc.) are for decorative purposes only.
About care instructions
All of our silicone products are dishwasher safe; however, you can also hand-wash our lids with a sponge and dish soap. To avoid scratching your lid please refrain from using abrasive products like steel wool.
About our silicone
Absolutely. The silicone that we use to make our products does not produce any residue nor does it alter the taste of the food that it protects.
